color combo challenge #239

hello crafty friends!

thanks to all of you who played with us at the last color combo challenge #238! your entries are AMAZING!

today i've got a brand new palette and a layout to share with you! this week's colour combo is melon - yellow - chalk - dusty pink - berry and here is what i have done with it:

"SWEET"

to complete my layout i used all five colours from the colour palette. my creative boost came from inspiration photo #2 - focus on accents: accordion flowers.
other inspiration: i got the clustering idea from the clustered flowers and the bling {jeweled ornaments};  from inspiration photo #2 i took the idea for the transparent frame, photo frame, chandeliers {background print};  inspiration photo #4: the geometric background {idea: pink curtain}.

to get the background i needed for my layout, i decided to design my own cardstock. i used donna downey "turkish grunge" mask and PANPASTEL. i outlines some of the elements with FABER-CASTELL pitt artist pens.

the chandeliers are made with SIZZIX - HERO ARTS framelits die cutting and stamp set "chandeliers".

to give extra texture to my layout i "faked" paint splashes with mask and TIM HOLTZ distress ink  pad.

the lovely swirl is from FWAB "elise flourish & flower set"; i die cut the birds with SIZZIX "birds on wire" 12" die and coloured them with RANGER paint dabber. the butterflies are punched out with MARTHA STEWART's "garden butterfly" and "monarch butterfly" punch.

to create my title i used BASIC GREY "sugared" run-ons book, cardstock and MS "doily lace" edge punch.

i used different dies to create the embellishments for my page. i used TIM HOLTZ' "mini paper rosettes", "paper rosettes", "washer border" and "cobblestones", and SPELLBINDERS "jewed fantasies".

the deadline for this colour combo is the last day of the month: april 28, 2013 but remember this week's GALLERY FAVES will be chosen for entries received by april 14. for more detailed information, visit COLOR COMBOS GALORE website.

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy
