she believed she could {scrapbook challenges}

hello scrappy friends!

it's a new week and a new sketch at SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGES - sketch #342. and here is my take on -

"she BELIEVED she could, so she DID"

and here is sketch #342:

for my background i used DONNA DOWNEY stencil mask "poppies and peonies" and PANPASTELS. after the fixative was dry i decorated further my background using TIM HOLTZ "mini ornate" stamp set and archival ink.

the pattern paper i used is from PRIMA marketing "celebrate jack and jill" collection. i fussy cut different shapes and embellishments, embossed them slightly and adhered them with 3d tape to my project.

for the title i used hand-cut banners from pattern paper with two different types of alphas - bother from PRIMA marketing - canvas and cardstock alphabet stickers.

i also used various MARTHA STEWART and EK SUCCESS punches. the stamped banners are made with pattern paper and PRIMA marketing washi tape stamps.

the flowers are also from PRIMA - "innocence collection", mini roses and "sugar bloom collection". if you are interested on how i did the green swirls by the mini roses, click HERE.

here are some more close ups of my project:

i hope i managed to inspire you today!

i can't wait to see your interpretation on this sketch!

nature lover {DIE-VERSIONS}

hello crafty friends!

today i've got a new card to share with you -

"NATURE LOVER"

i made this card to showcase the lovely DIE-VERSIONS' sweet spot "NATURE LOVER" die

i die-cut "nature lover" sweet spot twice, once in chocolate cardstock and once in tan cardstock. on the chocolate one i snipped out the words and glued them to the tan die-cut. i covered the letters with STICKLES glitter glue.

then i layered and off-set the two ring just slightly to give extra dimension to my card!

the pattern paper i used comes from a vintage K & COMPANY paper pad "life's journey".

i used white mulberry roses as a decoration. i curled the green wires with my embossing pen.

there are many lovely dies in the april release. you can view them all on the DIE-VERSIONS website.

have a lovely evening!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy

color combo challenge #241 & MME

hello crafty friends!

the new color combo #241 is LIVE! the colors this week are taupe - red - buttercream - olive - stone and here is what i came up with -

"THESE LITTLE MOMENTS"

i based my layout on color combo #241: love, always

i used all five colours from the colour palette on my page. my creative boost came from inspiration photo #2: focus on design: repetition / sequence (duplicated focal photos and ballerina silhouettes).
other inspiration: inspiration photo #1: banner strips (idea: banner); inspiration photo #3: swirls, pearls, jewels (idea: bridal attire and accessories).

i started with white cardstock, DONNA DOWNEY "turkish grunge" mask and panpastels. after the protective layer has dried i began stamping. i used TIM HOLTZ "urban chic" {the fancy decorative element} and "good thoughts" {the sentiment stamped in red}

i outlined some of the masked pattern with FABER-CASTELL pitt artist pen - brown.

i used MY MIND'S EYE "lost and found 2: rosy" paper line and the collection embellishments - dimensional stickers, brads and journalling cards.

the red swirl is from FLOURISH WITH A BLING - grace pearl flourish. i cut it in two to match my design.

for my title i used a journalling card from MME. i cut out the glittery frame {which i used on different spots on my page}, inked its edges and layered it on brown carstock.

the smallest ballerina i stamped and cut out from pattern paper {i used the back side of my stamped image to match the direction of the rest of the ballerinas}. the red one a fussy cut from pattern paper.

i hope you enjoyed my creation today.

here is a lost with some of the products i used on this layout:

the deadline for this colour combo is the last day of the month: april 28, 2013

 but remember this week's GALLERY FAVES will be chosen for entries received by april 28.

for more detailed information, visit COLOR COMBOS GALORE website.

i hope you will join us at CCG!

a card and a winner!

hello crafty friends!

you all know that we are lamb lovers at our family - we even got our own cuddly online shop {www.SHEEPTIGHT.com}. so when i saw the new DIE-VERSIONS "lamb" sweet petites die i knew i had to have it!

i made this card for EASTER and i thought the lamps will do perfectly with the easter eggs. and what is better than one lamb?... three lambs, of course :-)

but there is a hidden DIE-VERSIONS die on this project, can you find it?

underneath the printed forever friends bear embellishment, i made a lacy mat using a couple of "parasol" die-cuts. i snipped off the parasol handles and overlapped the remaining pieces to make a lacy layer. then i edged that layer with STICKLES pink glitter glue to make it stand out even more.

i hope i managed to inspire you today!

and since we are celebrating the orthodox easter in my family, i still have a couple of weeks more to create pretty lamb cards!

and now to the winner of my RAK for the FLOURISH WITH A BLING blog hop. i picked a random entry using the random.org number generator:

CONGRATULATIONS, meredith! please, send me an e-mail with your addy, so i can get your prize to you ASAP!

and don't forget that the big prize pack will be drawn over at FWAB blog on monday and everyone who left a comment there will be eligible to win it!

have a scrappy weekend!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy

the little ones {scrapbook challenges}

hello crafty friends!

it's a new week and we've got a new sketch for you at SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGES.
this is my take on -

"THE LITTLE ONES"

and here is the sketch #340

for this layout i used PRIMA marketing "zephyr"collection. for my background i used two types of masks - a ledger one with TIM HOLTZ "broken china" distress ink and DONNA DOWNEY poppies and peonies mask with modeling paste and  "dried marigold" distress ink pad.

the title is made of PRIMA marketing resist canvas shapes, which i coloured with disress ink. i used MARTHA STEWART "vintage floral" and "doily lace" edge punch to decorate my title block.

for the flowers i used PRIMA marketing mini roses yellow and sugarplum roses {banana colour}. the foliage is made with various dies from MARIANNE design.

i punched the heart with MARTHA STEWART "lace scallop heart" punch.

so, what d you think - are you joining us this week?

i hope to see your creations in the SC gallery!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy
