christmas cards and die cuts {DT work for PAPERHAUS}

hello lovely friends,

it's almost DECEMBER and christmas is just around the corner:-) so, i thought it is never too early for a couple of christmas cards!

today i want to share a new way of using your cutting dies with you – not with paper, but with plastic.

all you need is a die cutting machine {of any kind},  a few christmas / winter / general dies and a piece of plastic. you can use a special craft plastic sheet or an old packaging.

step 1: die cut the elements you would like to use from the plastic sheet.

 step 2: cover the die cuts with gesso. i've putted some more gesso on the branches of the tree to achieve a 3d look. allow it to dry.

 step 3: color the die cuts to your liking. i colored the hat of the snowman with acrylic paint and his nose with distress markers. then i stamped the sentiment directly on the layer of gesso.

for the winter tree i used TIM HOLTZ' distress markers and modeling paste for the snow.

 step 4: assemble your cards.

to complete my cards i used various techniques and products. the frame is made with a digi-stamp, colored with distress markers and embossing powder.

 for the snowflakes i used puffy paint, rhinestones and silver pen.

supply list:
TIM HOLTZ distress markers set
TIM HOLTZ bigz die “snow tree”
TIM HOLTZ bigz die “winter wonder”

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy
